In 2020 the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) engaged Overleaf Communications to redesign the information architecture (IA) and content for the Climate Change website that had been migrated from environment.gov.au to industry.gov.au due to a Machinery of Government change.
Where possible, I audit every page.
'We were looking for an affordable digital specialist to work on a high-profile Australian Government website redesign project, requiring delivery in very tight timeframes.
'Sarah undertook targeted research, developed a comprehensive content strategy and recommendations, then proceeded to work with more than 30 of our subject-matter experts (while working remotely), to redesign and rewrite highly technical content into consumable formats for various technical and non-technical audiences.
'Her focus on human-centred design principles, and the end-to-end user journey, enabled her to deliver a suite of critical content, reducing more than 2000 web pages down to just 130.
'She also took the time to engage with our experts and build their digital capability and understanding of content design principles.
'Upon publishing, we saw an immediate improvement in user experience, with no complaints or website feedback, which suggests users can find what they are looking for.
I wholeheartedly recommend Overleaf Communications for your next website or digital project; Sarah really is an expert in this space—and she works lightning fast!'
I live and work on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. I acknowledge custodians of Country and their continuing connection to land and waters across Australia.
